Unparliamentary language in municipal council

Attingal: When government employees were celebrating Ramzan during the long weekend (thanks to three continuous holidays) and the roads and streets in Attingal were calm devoid of any rush, an incident stood up for its ugliness. It is the allegation against Municipal Chairman Adv. C.J. Rajesh Kumar that he had used unparliamentary language against a councilor. The councilor in question is M. Balakrishnan, belonging to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) (of Karunakaran and Muralitharan). He is also the chairman of the standing committee for the development of scheduled castes. NCP is supposed to be in LDF here (though now no one, including Karunakaran and Muralitharan, seem to be sure of which front they are in). The councilor alleges that while discussing the allocation of funds for the development of scheduled tribes, the chairman suddenly let loose an outburst against him in obscene language. He said that he will raise the issue in the next council meeting.

The chairman partially agreed that such an incident had occurred. But he denied using foul language. He clarified that the councilor had not given certain project related to the development of scheduled castes within the stipulated time. If the time elapses, the fund allocation for the project cannot be made. That is why he briefed the councilor in a stern language about the urgent need to submit the project proposal as soon as possible. He added that being the chairman, it is his duty to ensure that the funds allocated to scheduled castes reach them.
