Girl killed in accident in Attingal

Attingal: In the ever-continuing story of accident deaths in the town, a six-year old girl was killed in an accident near Poovanpara bridge around 9.30 yesterday morning. Ammu, a second-year old student in LMS School, was hit by a Santro car while she was crossing the road. Dr. Nisamunnisa, a doctor in ESI hospital in Kollam, was driving the car, going to Kollam from Thiruvananthapuram. She couldn’t stop the car in time to prevent the mishap, as the girl rather unexpectedly trying to cross the road. This is the second accident in two days in the region. Day before yesterday, a second-standard girl died in an accident near Kaduvayil Palli, when she hurriedly attempted to cross the road.

Ammu is the adopted daughter of Kumari Thamara and Maniyan. Maniyan is working in a private company in Gujarat. They had not had children even after 18 years of marriage life. That is when they decided to adopt Ammu from an orphanage in Pala. But the cruel fate followed Ammu even to her adopted home.
