A Health Club in Alamcode

Shashi Tharoor in one of his columns once wrote that the only exercise he had for long was jumping into conclusions! Well, for those people around Alamcode who want a more beneficial exercise than what Mr. Tharoor did, there is a new avenue now. Master Health Club was inaugurated in Alamcode yesterday by a well-known body builder and Arjuna award winner, Mr. Babu. The health club is functioning in a new building near Juma Masjid of Alamcode, named SS Plaza. The timings are convenient for students and office goers: from 5 to 9 in the mornings and from 4 to 9 in the evenings. The admission fee is Rs.350/- and monthly fees is Rs.150/-. Experienced gym-goers are unanimous in their opinion that this health club has more fitness equipment than other gyms in the neighboring localities like Karette and Attingal. Its proprietor Mr. Mohammed Manoj says that the focus of the health club is on helping people to achieve a certain fitness level that would allow them to lead a healthy life rather than on creating musclemen as most gymnasiums do. Their motto says it all: A health club for a healthy life. One tends to think a health club with right intentions is long overdue in Alamcode, which is famous for the hotels serving the best mutton dishes in the region and a busy fish market.
