A Drive-In Restaurant in Alamcode

Alamcode has always been famous for the non-vegetarian food; may be because of the dominant Muslim population there. To be exact, Alamcode is known as the center of mutton. Hotel Centre in Alamcode has an iconic status in the minds, and on the tongues, of mutton lovers. Hotel Janatha and Hotel Irshad too are not far behind. Mutton soup and mutton biriyani are the specialties there. Despite having down-to-earth and scantily decorated interiors, all these hotels attract a large number of visitors daily, thanks mainly to the distinct taste of the mutton cuisines. This is the setting on which a new exotically named drive-in restaurant called Bamboo Garden was inaugurated yesterday in Harisuns Plaza.

The new restaurant boasts several unheard-of dishes in Alamcode: Chinese and continental dishes, Arabic cuisine, Malabari dishes, and so goes their notice. I tried to check the dishes yesterday itself. But there was a horrible ganamela going on as part of the inauguration celebration, which put me off. Hope this venture does not suffer the fate of another equally hyped restaurant in Alamcode. Swadhia drive-in restaurant had functioned well for a few months, before some financial and administrative problems and a curious incident of electricity theft conspired to bring down curtains to the brief life of the restaurant.

Dear Jerry

Sorry for the delay in Rplying.

As it turned out, the restaurant does not have any official phone number. I traced the mobile number of one of its partners: Nahas - 9895292964.

I must add here that the restaurant has not lived up to the hype. You may not find a great choice of food there, if food is what you are looking for.
