In an accident involving four vehicles, two people were killed in Attingal yesterday night around 9’o clock. Binu (Bindu Bhavan, Valaiya Kunnu, Kizhuvilam) and his neighbor Raju (Geetha Bhavan, Valiya Kunnu), who is the son of the proprietor of Siva Printing Press, Mamam, died soon after the accident. Binu was working in Gulf. The accident happened on the National Highway near LIC office and ITI.
They were going back to their home on their bike after doing some purchase. A KSRTC Super Fast bus was coming from Thiruvananthapuram. The real cause for the accident was a minor skirmish between an autorikshaw driver and another bike rider. After an angry quarrel, the autorikshaw driver suddenly started the autorikshaw. It was the fateful time when Binu and Raju reached there. To avoid the autorikshaw, they turned the bike to the right, and the bike smashed into the Super Fast bus. The bus halted only after going further for about 200 meters. It created a gruesome scene of blood on the road. After this, angry mob blocked the road and damaged the bus.
