Attingal Film Festival Starts Today

Attingal Film Festival, organized jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), Soorya, and Attingal Municipality, starts today. Attingal MP Adv. Sampath will inaugurate the festival. It is a five-day affair and will screen 15 films.

It is part of a grand plan by the municipality to conduct an Attingal Festival. Organizers claim that from next year onwards it will not be just a film festival, but a festival of a variety of art forms.

This year’s film festival contains recent Indian films. No foreign films or classic Indian films. Notable films include critically acclaimed Malayalam films like Madhya Venal and Ramanam, Hindi films like Baba Saheb Ambedkar, and Tamil movies like Kancheevaram (directed by Priyadarsan), Nan Kadavul and Nadodikal.

Festival films are screened in five theatres in Attingal: Thapasya, Ganga, Vysakh, Dreams, and Gouri. There will be three shows daily. Entry pass costs Rs.100/-.
