It happens rarely in Attingal – a top rank in a prestigious all-India examination. Mr. Abhiram G. Sankar, a resident of Ganesha Prasanna, Water Authority Road, Valiyakunnu, Attingal, has secured the fourth rank in Civil Services examination, undoubtedly the most prestigious of all exams in India. He is also to top rank holder from Kerala in the examination. Congratulations to Abhiram for this top honor.

Abhiram, son of Mr. Giri Sankar, a manager in Federal Bank Ltd, and Meena Sankar, a housewife, is a B Tech Computer Science graduate from TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. He has studied at Sree Chithira Thirunal Residential Central School, Kunnathukal (then at Chirayinkeezhu), and at Arya Central School Pattam. He has performed consistently well in academics right from his school days, like IAS toppers usually do. He is a nature lover and photographer too (http://www.flickr.com/photos/abhiramsankar/ and http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Profile?uid=5913066032654840043).

He said the motivation and encouragement from his parents, teachers, and friends helped him a lot in days of hard work during the preparation for the examination. We hope his glittering success would inspire many more students Attingal to have a go at such national-level benchmark examinations.
