Heavy rain continues in Attingal

Attingal: The town witnessed heavy rain for the past one week. It starts suddenly and ends abruptly – much like a twenty-twenty cricket match. The rain has certainly spoiled the much publicized patchwork of roads. The High Court has extended the time frame for the government to repair the roads up to October 30. But with rain in this mood, it is unlikely that the repair work would finish as expected. But contractors, the incorrigible optimists, see a bright side in it. One of them says that anyway the work was not going to be finished as expected. Now the rain has given them a perfectly acceptable excuse.

Also, as usual, KSEB officials are responding to the heavy rain with a 45-minute power cut during the so-called peak hours, between 6 PM to 9 PM. The reason they give is the damaging of a transformer in a nearby substation.
