Attingal: The town and nearby villages witnessed heavy downpour today morning. The cloudy skies opened up and it was water, water everywhere. Commuters were the worst sufferers, as the roads, which are already a guttery mess, metamorphosised into tiny rivers. It was especially difficult for two-wheeler drivers. Rain subdued as the day progressed, with the sky becoming almost clear in the evening. A low-pressure formed in Bay of Bengal near Kanyakumari is said to be the official reason for this sudden downpour. But old timers still insist that this is nothing but the good old “thulavarsham”.
